The Corrupted Animal Token is a den item. It was originally released on October 10, 2024, at the Premium Shop.

Appearance[]

The Corrupted Animal Token is a slim, round, indigo token that appears to have glowing lightning patterns on it. It is described in the Jamaa Journal to be some kind of crystal. It only comes in one variant.

Features[]

The Corrupted Animal Token can be redeemed for a Corrupted animal. To a redeem it, a player must place it in their den and click it. It will take them to a Corrupted animal shop appearing very similar to the Sapphire Shop's animal shop. However, each animal has the Corrupted effect, making their main color black with a pattern that resembles lightning. Each animal in this menu has the price tag of 0 Sapphires. When redeemed, the player is able to choose and edit the name and secondary color. Players are also able to change these aspects at a later time. However, the main color, black, cannot be changed— only the eyes and Corruption pattern can.

Trivia[]

  • This item was sold by Barb in the Dungeon Caverns.
  • It is said by Sir Gilbert that Corrupted Animals became what they were by being trapped in "crystal chambers", probably referring to the Phantom Dungeons, and he calls this injustice.
  • It is said in the Jamaa Journal that Barb, the seller of these tokens, was "keen to get rid of them".
  • Almost any released animal in the game can be owned as a corrupted animal, except the Archosaurs, Dragons, Unicorns and Reskins (e.g. Autumn Coyote, Spooky Arctic Wolf). However, fantasy animals and dinosaurs still do appear corrupted in the last level of the Phantom Dungeons as the "dark version" of a jammer— they're just not playable.
