Despite its title, this song is not in any form a sonata, which is a musical composition for a soloist. It follows a steady, uptempo 4/4 bunny hop-like, jazzy rhythm. The sporadic rhythms on the drums contrast with the light melody played by the leading instruments, the piano and the glockenspiel, creating a slippery, walking-on-ice feel. The song ends with an isolated drum moment as the music loops around again.
